If two different brands of cameras are ONVIF compatible, the main general features of the equipment will work. However, many brands develop in-house AI and features that require both the camera and video recorder to be produced by the same brand for these features to function. It's similar to using a generic printer driver—while the printer will print, many of the features may not operate because you're not using the manufacturer's printer driver.
